2020 Southern Checker Tournament was scheduled to be held on (Saturday-Sunday) June 27th and June 28th at the Comfort Suites in Lebanon, TN 37090, has been CANCELLED. Larry Keen stated, "Hopefully we will have a tournament in 2021". The hotel is located on highway 231 (904 Murfreesboro Road) near I-40 (take exit 238 and turn south). For reservations at Comfort Suites, call 615-443-0027 ($89.95) per night or at Econo Lodge, located 829 S. Cumberland street, 615-444-1001 ($69.95) and tell them you are a checker player. Please call before June 12, 2020. There is no guarantee the rates will apply or the rooms be available after that date. You may cancel your reservation as late as 4pm the day before your arrival. The playing room is free provided a combined total (from both hotels) of 10 rooms are rented. Otherwise, there will be a daily fee. A continental breakfast is available at both locations; however, we play in the main conference room on the 1st floor at Comfort Suites. We are planning to have 3 divisions for the tournament. Four rounds will be played on Saturday and three on Sunday. Registration will begin at 8am on Saturday with a business meeting at 9am. Play will begin immediately following the business meeting.
